Math: Today we did our decimal quiz.

Math: We continued our quiz.

Language: We did Easter poems! They came out so beautiful!

UOI: We learned about increasing and decreasing friction. We watched a video about friction and read about what increases and decreases friction in the environment.

We did an activity and answered the below questions:

What things are done at our school to make travelling safer in the winter?

·            Put salt down to increase friction

·            Snow plows take the snow away to increase friction

·            Boots with more grip to increase friction

What types of weather causes friction to increase and decrease?

·            Increase

o   Hail

o   Sun makes the snow melt and makes the tarmac bumpy

·            Decrease

o   Rain

o   Snow

o   Ice

Why might cars skid on icy roads?

·            Less friction on the road so they slid

Why do skiers and skateboarders put wax on their skis and skateboards?

·            To decrease friction and cause them to slid better
