Here is what we did today:

Inquiry into Math: We review short and long division again today. They are getting it but practice makes perfect with division. Here are the steps to long division (I will be sending this home tomorrow so they can continue to practice over the weekend):

We did examples together and then worked on our workbooks.

Recess/Lunch

UOI: Our lesson today was on positive and negative self-talk and how that can impact one's self-esteem. We talked about how we should be proud of ourselves, love ourselves and not compare ourselves to others. We brainstormed examples of positive and negative self-talk. We completed a worksheet as a reflection.

Here is what we did today:

Inquiry into Language: We read the last two chapters of our novel study. We recapped what were the important parts of each chapter and made connections to everyday life. We were so sad to end our first novel study!

UOI: Today's lesson was about values! We discussed what are values, how we get our values and why they are so important. We worked on an activity that helped us identify what are our values and which 3 were the most important.

After, we created a value compass! I shared my value compass on the board and reasons why I put those values on my compass. We had a lot of wonder questions in regards to how I gained my values.

Recess/Lunch

Picture Day!

Inquiry into Math: Today's lesson was cut short due to picture day so we will continue tomorrow. We started to learn what are the steps to short division. We did many examples together and will continue again tomorrow.
