Inquiry into Language: We worked on Lesson 17 in our workbook and spelling sentences. We worked on what is peer editing. We learned that there are 3 steps which should all be done positively. Step 1: Compliment, Step 2: Suggestions and Step 3: Corrections. The students used the stories they wrote on Friday and with a partner they practiced peer editing.
Recess/Lunch
UOI: We went through what is a deadline and the importance of making deadlines. We made deadlines in our organizers and went through the graphic organizers. We spoke about expectations for each component. They began to work on their story mountains.
Inquiry into Math: Today we talked about
decimals! Decimals are parts of a whole, similar to a fraction.
We talked about two places after the decimal point, tenths and
hundredths. We used base ten blocks and a place value chart to better help us understand how to make a decimal from a fraction.
Remember: if the fraction is over ten there will be one number after the decimal point. If the fraction is over 100 then it will be two numbers have the decimal point.
