Inquiry into Language: We did a refresher lesson on how to write a rough draft in paragraph form together.
UOI: They completed their story mountains and started working on their rough drafts.
Recess/Lunch
UOI: We continued working on their summatives.
Inquiry into Math: Today we talked about comparing and ordering fractions. First we took up the homework as to ensure we understood the homework.
Next, we started talking about ordering and
comparing decimals. The first step they always need to do is put them in in a line. They
do not need to be in order but this will help them to compare the
columns. They first look at the first column and see if they can see
right away what is the first or last number and can put those in right
away. Then we go to the next column etc. This helps us to keep the
numbers in line.
If all of the numbers don't have the same amount of numbers you can put place holders (zeros) at the end or the beginning to keep the numbers in line.
