Inquiry to Language: We continued reading our novel study book, The Secret Garden. We did not want to stop. Mary has found the key and the door to the garden. We are excited to see what adventure awaits us. We took turns reading paragraphs from this chapter!
Recess/Lunch
Inquiry into Math: We started our unit on Transformational Geometry! We were very excited to explore grids/coordinates, translations, rotations, reflections and symmetry. We started this unit with a lesson on grids and coordinates. Coordinates help us locate objects on a grid. We learned to read it from the horizontal axis then the vertical axis. We write coordinate as such (letter, number). For example: (B, 2). We use brackets to separate the coordinates when we are listing them. If a location/object is in-between 2 squares on a grid we use a dash in-between the two coordinates, for example: B, 4 - C, 4. We played Battleship to practice reading and recording coordinates!
UOI: We started working on our summative package! We used some library books to help us brainstorm ideas.
