Art's Night Dance Rehearsal: We worked with a choreographer on our dance!
Inquiry into Language: Today we learned about Homophones! Homophones are pairs of words that sound the same, but have distinctly different meanings and different spellings. We brainstormed examples on the board together and then worked on some worksheets.

French: Please see Mme. Stella's blog for more detail. https://stjudesfrench-stella.blogspot.com
Inquiry into Math: We continued our lesson on quadrilaterals and properties of quadrilaterals. We talked about the use of hatch
marks to tell us which sides of the shape are the same. These are small
straight lines. Next we talked about parallel lines. If two lines are parallel that
means they can go on forever and never touch. These lines are arrows. Finally we talked about
how some shapes can also be classified as another. For example, A square
is rhombus because it has four equal sides and two pairs of parallel
lines.
We also explored angles in quadrilaterals! We talked about how squares and
rectangles have 4 equal angles, parallelograms and rhombuses have
opposite equal angles and lastly all kites have 2 equal angles. To show
that angles are equal you draw matching arcs.
We went through 6 different quadrilaterals and explored each one in detail. We also watched some videos to help us better understand and remember the attributes.
