GOOD MORNING GOOD MORNING GOOD MORNING!
It's another day closer to the weekend!! You all have been doing a fantastic job at adding to your Seesaw accounts and using Knowledgehook. Super proud of how responsible everyone is being. I think you'll enjoy my math lesson today (there's a special guest)! Can't wait to see all you on Zoom later today 😀
MATH: Time for experiments!!!! Our lesson today is identifying fair and unfair spinners and how to conduct an experiment using a spinner. Here is a link to my video lesson: https://youtu.be/Z1ZdRpjywxA
For homework: You have three worksheets (one on fair/unfair spinners and 2 experiments) to complete and upload to Seesaw! I've also unlocked another previous unit for you on Knowledgehook!
LANGUAGE: We are continuing to practice using suffixes! Here is my lesson link: https://youtu.be/v0O2-uOTQ14
So for homework choose a row and write 5 sentences using the words from within that row. You can write one word per sentence (5 sentences in total) or take up the challenge and write a paragraph using the root word and the four different forms of the word within it.
Here is an addition video on suffixes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V__uO0p5fhs

UOI: Today our focus is on Nutrients in the Soil. There's three really important ones! Can anyone guess?
Here is the link to my lesson and explanation of today's activity: https://youtu.be/tvVMHMClZq4
Here is an additional video on nutrients:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBrhZKuG-HY

My example of today's task:
Make sure to colour it in!
FRENCH:
Learning goal: Develop listening skills in French and identify
previously learned nouns and verbs.
Success criteria: I can listen to a French narration and identify words
I know.
-
Students will
watch the linked video below two to three times (more or less if needed):
-
While listening
they should focus on pronunciation and vocabulary: try to identify the words
that they already know or learned in the previous days of this week and write
them down on a notepad, white board or a sheet of paper.
-
Now students will
need to make a table with at least 6 boxes, in each they should write one of
the words that they noted down while watching the video and draw what it
represents (words can be nouns or verbs).
Note to students: make sure to properly and neatly present your work
on the sheet (date, title…).
Here’s an example: (some of
the words aren’t necessarily related to the video)

PE CHALLENGE!
The Phys-Ed team (myself, Mr. Orr and Mr. Beresford) have decided to run a competition amongst all students at SJA! Each Wednesday there will be a physical challenge that ends the following Tuesday. If a photo or video is sent to me, you automatically get 100 house points!! On Tuesday next week, we will be choosing a winner from JK-2, 3-6, 7-10. The winner will be chosen based on your ability to properly do the skill and how long you do the skill for. The winner will get 1000 house points!
This week’s challenge is the plank! JK-2 may try the “bird dog”. Try to do a plank for 60 seconds!! You can start with 10 seconds today, try 20 seconds tomorrow, and work your way up to a minute!
