Inquiry into Math: We continued to practice adding and subtracting decimals. This time we looked at decimals within word problems. Especially ones that involve money! We reviewed rounding using a number line as well. When rounding decimals we want to get to the closest whole number!
Recess/Lunch
Inquiry into Language: We started our lesson with learning how to place a comma within a sentence to offset the non-essential information. This will help us structure our sentences effectively!
Then we focused on writing an introduction paragraph for a narrative. An introduction paragraph should include: a hook, description of the character and the setting. We watched two videos to help us better understand the format before starting to write one ourselves. We will continue to write tomorrow!

UOI: Our focus today was on forces of nature! Wind, water and fire are powerful natural forces and can cause natural disasters. We learned about 3 in particular: Landslides, Erosion and Wildfires. We looked at how they occur and discussed the positive and negative outcomes of these events.
