Here is what we did today:

Track and Field Award Ceremony: Fantastic job to every grade 3 who participated!

Gym: Mr. B was away so Ms. Downey took them outside.

Language: Today was a catch up period. They could work on novel study, spelling, language drills or read.

Recess/Lunch

Math: Today we learned about outcome and probability. We did a ton of examples on the board and in groups. We did some textbook questions for practice.

UOI: Today we started our summative! We are creating our plants!! They started working on their planning package today.

Language: We had a busy language period with a lot of tasks to keep us on track!

Recess/Lunch

We continued language for 30 more minutes.

Math: Today we learned about probability! We spoke about the language we used when talking about probable and improbable situations/event. We came up with some examples as a class: 

It is possible and likely that Ms. Chiappetta will eat a cupcake today.
It is possible but unlikely that it will snow tomorrow.
It is possible that it will rain tomorrow.

We did a worksheet with a partner and took it up as a class. We also completed some textbook questions.


Recess/Lunch

 UOI: Today we learned about soil erosion! We spoke about how it impact people and the environment. We also discussed how to prevent the damage from erosion. We watched a video:

Then we conducted an experiment with soil, water, ice and air as a class! We had a lot of fun!

 

Homework and Important Updates:

 Tomorrow is a medal ceremony for our first, second and third place track and field place winners. It starts at 9am and everyone is welcomed to attend.

Math: We did our test on 2D and 3D shapes.

Recess/Lunch

We continued our test. If a student was finished then they could work on their novel study.

Oakwood Spring Concert: Wonderful job from our friends at Oakwood!

 
Lunch

UOI: Today we learned about composting. We spoke about the importance of composting and how it provides nutrients to plants. We read together as a class and then the students had time to start creating their composting posters.

Morning Assembly: We won the Golden Broom!!!

Spelling Test: For Lesson 32

Read and book and had a snack before the track and field activities began!

Track and Field: Well done everyone! You all tried your absolute best today and I am so proud of your determination to complete every race.
