UOI: Today we began learning about the use of Ethos, Pathos and Logos in advertisements. Ethos, Pathos and Logos is a persuasive writing technique. Ethos uses celebrities and other trusted individuals, Pathos uses emotions and Logos uses facts. We took a look at three different advertisements and decided which category they fell into. Recess/Lunch
Inquiry into Math: Today we talked about measuring area in cm squared and m squared. The concept is the same as Thursday's lesson in which they have to write the formula for area and a multiplication sentence for each shape.
Inquiry into Language: We completed another OREO together and learned how to put it into a paragraph. We focused on the importance of using transition words in our writing to help the paragraph flow. I think the Grade 3s came up with a very persuasive speech on uniforms!
