Inquiry into Language: We did this test a little differently! I read out the list words and they had to choose 10 of those words and use them properly in a paragraph. We are looking at the proper spelling of the list word and if they used it in the proper context of their sentence.

Inquiry into Math: Today we learned about millimetres, centimetres and decimetres! They loved this lesson
because it was just multiplying and dividing by 10 and 100! We spoke about
selecting appropriate units of measurement to describe objects. For
example: You would say the door is 3m tall not 300cm. We learned how to
use decimals with millimetres; we know that centimetres go before the
decimal point the millimetres go after the decimal point. We learned how
to convert mm to cm, cm to dm and mm to dm. We know that we must
convert the units of measurement to be the same unit of measure before
comparing. We did a lot of examples together as a class using rulers and base ten blocks!
UOI: Today we talked all about advertisements! We learned what 4 things make up a good advertisement: catch your attention, hold your interest, make people want something and cause action. We
discussed the two types of advertisements: Digital verse Print and the purpose
of these advertisements. We looked at what is a picture verse what is an
advertisement and why. Their homework for the long weekend is to look through a magazine and find an advertisement of something they would want and tell me why this ad makes them want it!

Daily Five: We used this time to work on our homework and read with me for their DRAs.
