Thursday December 12th, 2019

Here is what we did today:

Inquiry into Math: We continued to learn about stem and leaf plot graphs. We loved this lesson! We started by collecting data. The students were asked to do as many jumping jacks as possible within one minute and 30 seconds. We recorded all of our results on the board. Then we went into organizing that information. We learned that only numbers in the ones column go under the leaf section and numbers that are in the hundreds and thousands column go under the stem section. We practiced this together as a class and then they all worked on their math packages.

For median: if the two numbers that are in the middle are the same then you don't have to add and then divide... the number will always be that middle number!

Christmas Concert Rehearsal: Since our real Elsa was absent, I had to step in! Here is a sneak peek:

UOI: We read about the three landform regions in Ontario. Their homework is to highlight the important information about each region.

Agenda!

On December 17, 2019, students from Grade 3 to Grade 8 will put on two performances at the St. Jude’s Academy Dome. Our afternoon performance will begin at 1:00 pm, with doors opening at 12:30. Our evening performance will begin at 6:30 pm, with doors opening at 6:15 pm. Seating is on a first come, first serve basis. Please keep in mind that outside food and drinks are not permitted in the Dome.
For our evening performance, families are welcome to take our shuttle from St. Jude’s to the Dome and back. Shuttles will begin running from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Please meet in the main office.
We encourage all families to come bundled up to stay warm and cozy for the entire show. The students and teachers have put a tremendous amount of work into their performances and kindly ask that all families stay and enjoy the show until the end.
