Here is what we did
today:
Agendas/Morning Meeting

Language: We continued
our novel study, “Heidi.” We read chapters 10 and 11 together. We made a lot of
inferences about what could happen next in the book or how the characters are
feeling.
Recess/Lunch
Math: Today we learned about equivalent fractions. Equivalent fractions are fractions that look different but show exactly the same amount. You can make equivalent fractions by multiplying or dividing the numerator and denominator by the same number. We did a bunch of examples on the board together of how fractions may look different but can have the same value, for example: 1/2 and 6/12. We spoke about whatever you do to the numerator you must do the same to the denominator otherwise it will not be an equivalent fraction. The students completed a worksheet in class and we took it up all together. Once that was completed they tried to solve puzzles that included equivalent fractions represent in numbers and pictures.

For homework if some did not complete their inclass work they will be taking home their "Heidi" novel study book.
Please ensure this book comes back to school on tomorrow in the same
condition.
