Inquiry into Language: We started the lesson by reading the tip and going over what is a vowel and what is a consonant. We also worked on a couple of pages in our cursive workbook.
Inquiry into Math: We reviewed the concepts of addition and subtraction! We took a look at the math vocabulary that we know and brainstormed words that were related to them. Then we did some examples of addition and subtraction questions on the board. We practiced borrowing and regrouping with 3 and 4 digit numbers. Once everyone gave the thumbs up we started to work on some worksheets in our binders. Anything incomplete was for homework.
Recess/Lunch
UOI: Today we started our very first UOI! We are explore our Where we are in place and time unit, Back to the Past! I asked the students to partner up and gave them each a question. I placed other questions around the room and told the students they had one minutes to discuss each question with their partner. We did this multiple times until we gathered as a class and discussed some of our wonders from this activity. Each table group created a wonder chart!
