Here is what we did today:

French: Please see Mme. Stella's blog for more detail. https://stjudesfrench-stella.blogspot.com

Inquiry into Language: We continued to read our novel study, "Heidi" by Johanna Spyri. We read chapter three and four together and the students answered some comprehension questions as a follow up activity.

Recess/Lunch

Inquiry into Math: We started the lesson with taking up the math homework from yesterday. It helped us the concepts of mass and capacity. We had fun estimating which unit of measure would be most reasonable for an object. For example: a can of soda would be measured in mL or a car would be measured in kg. We learned how to put units of measure in order from largest to smallest and vice versa. It is important to pay attention to the unit of measure when ordering these numbers. We took a lot of time today to work on and understand word problems involving mass and capacity, and multi-step word problems.

UOI: We reviewed and made corrections on where certain jobs belonged within the three Land Regions we learned about yesterday. Then, in table groups, students brainstormed three additional jobs that could exist for each of these land regions. As a class, we then read about the different ways land can be used. We discussed how land can be used for recreational reasons, agriculture, residential, commercial, industrial, and conservation areas. We learned what each of these represent, then stuttered to work on a cut-and-paste activity where we have to match the community, with its definition and human needs.

Recess/Lunch

Inquiry into Language: We started our OWA post assessment.
