Reading Buddies: We visited our friends in Ms. King's class.
Inquiry into Language: We did a fun creative writing activity about "When I am 100 years old" to celebrate the 100th day of school!
Recess/Lunch
UOI: Today we learned about landforms! We looked at pictures of many landforms that we can come across around the world. Next, they did a matching game with their partners in which they had to match the definition to the picture of the landform. We finished off the period with a definition worksheet. They did great!
Inquiry into Math: Today we learned about estimating and counting money. We reviewed what it means to estimate and as a class we completed a few examples of estimating and counting out money with bills and coins. The steps were to: 1) Start with the dollars 2) Stack coins or make groups of coins worth $1 and 3) Count the leftover coin. We also spoke about showing the same value of money in different ways. We practiced this on the board and in table groups. We discussed that using the least amount of bills/coins is the best way to show an amount of money. We did a couple examples together and then we worked on some worksheets.
