UOI: We had our final day to work on our summatives. We started to practiced what we are going to say in front of everyone during the showcase tomorrow. We are excited to see you there.
Recess/Lunch
Inquiry into Language: Today we learned about quotation marks! We began by understanding the use of quotation marks. They are to tell you what someone is saying in a dialogue. We also learned that a dialogue tag is the person who is talking. We practiced circling the dialogue tag and adding the quotation marks and commas into sentences. We did many examples as a class and then moved on to independent work.
Inquiry into Math: Today we learned how to draw a Pictograph. We learned about all the important parts: the title, axis labels, the symbols and the key. We spoke about making sure we chose a number for our key that would allow us to use the least amount of symbols and makes the most sense with all of our numbers on the table. We practiced many examples together of how to find the key and understanding the symbols.
Then we drew a pictograph together as a class. We worked through some questions using our pictograph to help us answer them. They worked in partners to create pictographs and answer questions about their graphs.
