Inquiry into Math: Today we practiced identifying multiplication word problems. We made a word bubble that included all the key words we would see in a multiplication word problem. We practiced identifying key words and numbers in word problem by circling the important information. The students know that word problems should be answered by showing your work, writing a multiplication sentence, writing the answer clearly and finally writing a sentence in words. We did many examples together and then the students had time to work on the questions independently.
Recess/Lunch
Science Fair: We tried to do some of our trials and they were not very successful. All the paper towels would not break, even after 100 tablespoons! We tried many different objects to see if the different weights would change the outcome. We are going back to the drawing board tomorrow!
UOI: We continued to work on our summatives. We worked on the graphic organizers and building our objects.
