Thursday January 16th, 2020

Here is what we did today:

Inquiry into Language: We continued our novel study, Heidi! We read chapter 3 as a class and had many giggles over Peter and Heidi bickering over the goats and food. We worked on the comprehension question that related to this chapter.

Inquiry into Math: Today we continued to practice elapsed time. Since this concept is a tough one we really spent a lot of time practicing it today. We used number lines to help us figure out the time that has passed. We used mountains to demonstrate hours, hills to demonstrate minutes and lakes to demonstrate 1 to 10 minutes. We also worked on solving word problems that involved elapsed time.

Recess/Lunch

UOI: I explained the summative task and divided them into their groups. We began working on brainstorming reasons to support their team's stance.

French: Please see Mme. Rawan's blog for more detail.
