Hello Parents and Guardians,

Here is what we did today, Monday September 11, 2017.

Math: We worked on patterns and using a hundreds charts to identify patterns. We learned the definition of a pattern rule and a term. They have two questions for homework in their textbook.

UOI/Language: Today we started working in our spelling notebooks! The students were so excited to get started. We also read a book today and discussed what it meant to be an inquirer. The students had such great things to share during our carpet time. We wrote about five facts that we learned this year or during the summer as an inquirer.  

Recess/Lunch

UOI: Today we talked about target audiences. The students completed a worksheet about what target audience they would fall under and the questions we ask when trying to figure out target audiences. We went through some examples of advertisements together and talked about the reasoning behind them. We completed a tic-tac-toe magazine search to find different target audiences within the magazines we had in class. They seem to have a good understanding of what a target audience is and why it is used.

For Homework:

Math: Textbook page 8-9 only questions 1 and 6 (please use the hundreds chart and math notebooks)

Language: Spelling Workbook Lesson 1 to be completed by Thursday

Read for 25 minutes (Complete the Reading Log)
