Recess/Lunch
Daily Five: We began exploring the
Italian culture! We watched videos of traditional dances and looked at pictures
of traditional clothing. It was a fun sharing period!
UOI: Today, we learned about what a PSA is. We took a look at multiple
examples of PSAs and discussed what the purpose was for them. We discussed each
example in depth and spoke about what they will be doing over the next three
days.
Recess/Lunch
Math: We talked about place value to 1000 today! We talked about
three types of numbers: standard form (regular numbers), base ten name (The
number of blocks used using base ten blocks) and expanded form (The amounts
added up). We did several examples together in which we started with one of
these types of numbers and had to find a different number ( E.g. Find the
standard form when given the expanded form) Next we did some textbook
questions. Everyone seems very confident in this new concept!
