We were
busy as worker bees today! In math, we did a patterning pre-assessment after
our morning assembly. We had a fun day in gym, check out Mr.B’s blog for more
information! During language, we reviewed the use of capital letters, the
students were able to come up to the board and write a letter for practice. We
completed a fun activity where the students had to go around the class and
re-write sentences to include the proper placement of capital letters.
After lunch
and recess, the students had time for daily five. Some students continued to
work on the capitalization worksheet task, some worked finished up their
collages and the others quietly read to themselves or with another student.
We tidied
up the classroom and explore more of our Unit of Inquiry: Marvelous Media! We
discussed the two types of advertisements: Digital verse Print and the purpose
of these advertisements. We looked at what is a picture verse what is an
advertisement and why. We watched a few advertisements and sorted which
advertisements were to inform, to entertain or to persuade. For their exit
ticket, the students had to look through 2 magazines and find one advertisement
for each purpose.
After
second lunch and recess, the students had French class with Madame Stella.
