Inquiry into Language: We started to learn about all the different components of a letter. We
had a pretty good idea of what a letter should include, it was just the
terminology we weren't so familiar with. We talked about how all letters
should have a date, salutation/greeting, body, closing and signature.
With this we looked at an example of a letter and labeled where each of
these components were through a cut-and-paste activity. We will be
working on letter writing over the next week as this was part of our
OWA.
Library:
We went to the library and took out a book that we were able to enjoy today once we completed our language activity.

Recess/Lunch
Math: This was a review class of the concepts we have learned over the past couple days. We began by taking up some of our homework from last night. Everyone displayed a fantastic understanding of the 3 different types of patterns and how we continue these patterns. In addition to this we looked at the variety of different rules and how solving the rule helps us continue the pattern.
We practiced organizing our information from word problems into a chart and practicing extending the pattern and developing the pattern rule.
We are really focusing on the pattern rule. It always because with "Start at 5" (as per the picture example). Then it gives you the next step whether it is to add or subtract and by how much: "Add 1." Sometimes when the numbers that you are adding or subtracting each time change you need to add one more sentence as a step to guide you to the end: "Increase the number you are adding by 1 each time."

UOI: We continued to work on our summatives.
