Math: We did our pre-assessment for our new unit on multiplication and division! Once the students completed it, they were able to get started on their math homework. For homework, they had to complete a multiplication times table.
Recess/Lunch
Inquiry into Language: For language, we discussed the difference between rules and routines. Before we even started we focused on how to properly organize our work within our notebooks. We practiced writing the date, title and creating a t-chart in our language notebooks before our lesson. As a class, we came up with the definition and example for what is a rule and routine. In class, the students had to write down 2 more examples of rules and an example of a routine. If they completed that task then they could begin their homework which was filling in a chart about the rules and routines in their home.
UOI: Today we continued to explore distance and speed! We filled in the blanks on our worksheets and brainstormed a list of vocabulary words for distance and speed.
As a class, we took turns reading about push and pull forces such as friction, gravity, buoyancy and muscular force. We sorted them in a Venn diagram.
