Here is what we did today:

UOI: Today we learned about GRAVITY! We were joined by Ms. Foti's class for an experiment! We were testing which objects fell to the floor first. Each student had to make their predictions based on their observations. Then, the students observed as we dropped two similar objects at the same time from the same height.

Here is the link to the video we watched:

We completed a fill in the blank worksheet based on the information as a class.

Reading Buddies: We really enjoyed reading with Ms. King's class today.

Recess/Lunch

Inquiry into Math: We started our lesson with a math drill.. 21 questions on the multiples of 2 and 3. We will be doing this periodically so we discussed the importance of practicing of multiples at home.

Our lesson started with recalling how to skip count. We looked at our multiplication tables and noticed that each rows represents the multiples of each specific number. For example: if you look at the very left column and put your finger on the two. That row displays all the multiples of two.

We practiced listed multiples of different numbers. Then, we took a look at certain multiples to compare them. For example: the multiples of 2 and 4. We noticed that some of the numbers were in both rows of multiples. We circled them and then described the pattern we saw. (Every other multiple of 2 is a multiple of 4)

We learned many new multiplication vocabulary terms today. Please use these terms at home as well when they are doing homework. They had time today to start there homework worksheets as well.

Inquiry into Language: Using our rules and routines chart, we wrote a letter to either Ms. Foti or myself inviting us over to their house. They had to include all the parts of a letter and the rules and routines at their house.

Recess/Lunch

Inquiry into Language: They had more time to work on their letter, if it was not completed it was for homework. If they did complete it in class, the students had time to work on their cursive and then read.

Agenda!

 NO HOUSE HOODIES TOMORROW!!
